Say Hello to my Little Friend!

A small rattlesnake about 2.5 to 3 feet long on the side of the road in Nevada.

He was very focused, but his actions were entirely defensive. He never struck, even as I moved him.

Moving a rattlesnake off the side of the road. He never gave a second thought to my hiking pole, even as it picked him up. He knew that the potential danger would come from the warm-blooded animal on the other end. Yes, he’s a little blurry, but I I was a bit distracted as I took this!

Dawn in Nevada, maybe 150 miles into my next trip. By the time I stopped driving that night I was near the Idaho/Montana border, nearly 1000 miles from where I started the night before.
