Eight More Images from Big Sur Last Week

After the previous week's big storm turned me around at Yosemite as I was on my way to Big Sur, I finally saw a break in the weather last Wednesday to head back down there for 5 days.  It was a great dose of photography, from dawn until well into the night, for days on end.  As the Geminid meteor shower approaches its peak activity later this week, I can't wait to go do it all over again in Death Valley starting tomorrow!

  1. I figured the water flowing out to sea around those rocks would "lead into" the composition +Cameron Siguenza, thanks.  While I was perched on these rocks… a guy came by and asked why I was there with water flowing around me… was the view from there really that much better to be worth the risk?  I showed him a recent shot, how the foreground added to the composition… then I had to run as a wave washed over where I had been sitting!  It was a nice composition while it lasted, but it wouldn't have been worth dunking or losing my camera over it.

  2. 🙂 I haven't dived in years, one of these days soon – I want to get my PADI etc, and at least be open to that possibility.

Also +Jeff Sullivan – if you don't mind, what dive housings are good for Canon Mark ii or Mark 3? Not sure if you shoot Canon or Nikon. Some are very expensive.

  3. I wish that I could be there right now. if we had all been born very rich,
    instead of very beautiful/ handsome,
we could charter a plane and be on our way. I have 1 big problem however,
I am neither rich nor beautiful. haha!!!!!!

seriously though, it is wonderful to see such beautiful photos of such
    beautiful places, especially
    during this holiday season
when we are all a little, shall we say… harried. this photo
    brought me to a peaceful
    and relaxed state of mind.

I would like to send the photographer thank you
note for such a lovely Christmas gift.

I wish you all a peaceful and relaxing holiday season.
    M

  4. Celestement extraordinaire!
