Another Sunset from the Big Sur Coast

Took a wrong turn, and ended up here!  The next day I found the place I had been trying to get to.  Sometimes in landscape photography getting lost turns out great!

  1. +Jeff Sullivan  I just posted a photo, and your's popped up right after mine… I am awed in the difference in our surroundings.  Yours, full of colour and warmth, mine so bland, stark and cold…

Sometimes that just catches me by surprise… especially when I see one next to the other that way…

  2. California, warm +Sandra Parlow?  A couple of weeks ago perhaps, but the state borrowed some Arctic air from you for the past week or so.  I just posted a picture of a cactus… with snow on it!  It's still relatively warm down here of course… the high is forecast to be +31 F in Reno in a couple of days, but that sure beats -31 F.

  3. lol!  well, yeah.. it was -30C here last week…..  so your +31 sounds pretty good to me.  Even in the winter you guys get beautiful colour and light… here….  it's just mostly white with some grey mixed in 😉  Now and again a clear blue sky – but those tend to be the coldest days…  too cold to shoot most of the time 😉

We came to Florida once in February.  THe people who lived there were wearing winter coats and touques.. we had our shorts on!  lol!!

  4. I love snow +Sandra Parlow, especially when it's sloping and lift-served.  +Lori Hibbett and I live at 5000 feet elevation in the Eastern Sierra, often right at the snow level.  It looks like we'll have our first snow decorating the ground this morning when the sun rises, but it's only an inch or two, so it probably won't last long.  We can drive to the snow at Tahoe's ski areas or Mono Lake up at 7000 feet, but we don't have to shovel it.
