Snow on the Panamint Range in Death Valley

There's often snow on the Panamint Range in Winter, but it usually starts at an elevation of 9000 feet or so.  Last week cold storms brought the snow level below 5000 feet, providing even more contrast with the dry and much warmer desert valleys below.
