One of the things which can be very productive to do is to re-process old images using the latest versions of your processing tools. I just went through a folder form November 2011, and even though that's only a little more than a year ago, the upgrade to Lightroom 4 from Lightroom 3 enables me to process more images to the "keeper" stage. Here's a photo from California's Central Coast I don't recall even seeing in Lightroom 3, but pasting some preliminary Lightroom 4 adjustments to many photos in the album enabled me to recognize its potential.

+Jeff Sullivan you hit the Nail on the head! Lightrooms version 2012 is like a brand-new X-ray machine – letting Us see things with 'new eyes'. I've done a lot of revisiting old files!

The importance of shooting RAW files and not just jpegs – you just don't know what processing technology will be around in the future
