Join me for the sunset moon rise at Mono Lake June 26. The sun sets 5:12 then moon will rise around 5;20, hopefully while there's still ample sunset color in the sky.
Here's a clip from time-lapse video I created from the event in 2012, when the moon came up well before sunset color arrived. We'll be about a week earlier, so the moon rise position on the horizon will be similar. We can catch dinner afterwards (go warm up), then perhaps go back out for some full moon shooting in the snow after that! There's also a hot spring in Bridgeport that the folks heading back towards Reno/Tahoe can visit.
This could make an interesting evening trip for local Reno-Tahoe to Bishop photographers, or Northern California photographers who could combine it with a weekend ski trip to Tahoe.
