Once the direct light of the sun left the light rain falling in front of us on Saturday evening, the scene was left with blue-biased light in the shade with the sunset retreating over the horizon in the distance.

Oh now that's pretty
very nice 🙂
Hello, future painting. Come be my friend 🙂
Wow.. looks like a painting.
Oooh… very neat. Makes me think, "water colour painting". Hehe.
Hermoso!!
looks like art! great pic
And another one bites the dusk…..;-)
This is passionately stunning!
Thanks! Usually these sorts of layers are mainly occurring with distant ridges like the ones in the background, but this time the light rain in the air helped even the trees on the foreground ridge achieve a layered effect.
Wonderful image, looks very peaceful. I find these sorts of landscapes where there's a lot more subtlety to be more difficult to pull off. Will say I find the two light spots among the trees in the foreground to be a bit distracting.
nice
I agree, our eyes are drawn to the areas of greatest contrast +Jon Fischer. I like leaving a flaw or two in the copies I post to social networks so if they turn up elsewhere I know where they were stolen from. The high res copy I uploaded for printing has the building roof in toward the lower right sharply reduced: http://jeffsullivan.smugmug.com/Landscapes/National-Parks/Yosemite-National-Park/i-Rbdtnv3/0/XL/_46A4515-XL.jpg
There's a fine line between just enough and too much editing though (downplaying the roof is farther than I normally go), so I'd hold off on more aggressive edits until there's a particular need for that version.
+Jeff Sullivan Beautifully shot, Jeff.
Nice
lovely photo
Serene and stunning at the same time
Very lovely, indeed.
Majestic! Simply wonderful!

Spectacular color. Thanks.

=) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =)
Thanks for the +'s and as for you Jeff; keep sharing, people are inspired by creativity and talent-your bases are covered.
Thanks +Pam Scholes! When I get the get the book done the subjects will be accessible to everyone as well. I did a rough count and I have close to 400 photos and sites included. In landscape photography it's location, location, location… and season and timing. I'll help people get those bases covered and arrive at a time and place where they can work on their own interpretation of the amazing moments which occur there.
+Jeff Sullivan GREAT PIC JEFF, ! WRITE SHORT STORIES N LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY, ALWAYS A CAMERA IN MY HANDS…LOL, CANT WAIT TO SEE MORE OF UR WORK 🙂
Thanks for the + Jeff and that it is an amzing collection you spoke of; see i knew you had a passion for your passion. When i find myself experiencing writers block over scenery then it is talents like yours that take the block away. Share as many of those amazing moments as you can-take people where you have been.
One of those pictures that, the more you look at, the more zombies you see.
I really love the color contrast and almost a fading effect it gives. That what my eyes see anyway.
Thanks for the + jeff but I really do love the pics you share-when I am in a poetry mood of writing I find visuals very helpful and inspiring.
