Light Painting in Badwater Basin

Green orbs and red salt flats in blue hour light in the Badwater Basin, taken during our workshop last week.  This is a combination of four images, each a 30 second long exposure.

We'll be back for another workshop in December.  Every time the light painting gets a little more elaborate… I already have some ideas regarding things I want to try next time!

I'm running a test to see how this photo does on Flickr, G+, Facebook, 500px, Twitter, SmugMug and Panoramio.  I'll post the results on my blog.

  1. Jeff, my reactions to this are mixed, though it is certainly a good photo. I might be interested in discussing some ideas behind this photo with you privately, and perhaps interviewing you. Let me know if you might be interested.

  2. In this photo +xuejun dai, I'm spinning a light around on a string during a 30 second long exposure, to trace a sphere.

I did it three times, producing three abstract floating balls of light over the textured surface of the Badwater Salt Flats in Death Valley National Park.
