During my recent return to Bombay Beach with +Lori Hibbett, +J. Rae Chip was showing us around the area. She described some of the residents she had spoken to, and the challenges they were facing. I was curious to learn more, so I was thrilled to discover this documentary film profiling the community and its residents: https://vimeo.com/19572656
When you arrive at Bombay Beach, some of the locals come by, walking or on golf carts. They seem curious about the people curious about their waterfront. I'm really looking forward to seeing the documentary (available through Netflix). Next time we stop by, we may recognize some of the residents we meet.

Bombay Beach
There was a little bit of sunset color when I passed by Bombay Beach last week, but this time of year the sun is too far north, and way off to the right from this perspective. The first 5 photos here (cover and first 4 more) are from the east side of the Salton Sea.A documentary "Bombay Beach" was released in 2012 profiling some of the community's residents:

“A beautiful, quirky, and ultimately very moving film about the American Dream as it teeters on the edge of a desert sea.” – Terry Gilliam
