I had a few question about my Mono Lake sunset photo a few posts back. Here's the album of photos I shot back then, in Fall 2011. This first photo is a sunset reflecting in a pool of water. It was like a Crayola box full of blues, pinks purples and oranges had exploded. Photos 2, 3, and 4 are different compositions and images from that same sunset at Mono Lake I posted earlier.
I was asked on one of the colorful Mono Lake sunset shots whether I had adjusted the saturation. I double checked, and all of the settings which would directly affect color were set to zero, except of course white balance. It was simply one of the most spectacular sunsets I've ever experienced. I wrote a blog post recently which touches upon the myths of "perfect exposure" and accurate color in photography:

Most of the other photos in this album were also shot in the Eastern Sierra region within a couple hours drive of my house (with the exception of a trip I took to San Francisco to catch the full moon set). I shoot a lot of new work, so ones of these I've posted before would have been mainly back over 18 months ago when Google+ was still in beta, so most of my current contacts haven't seen them. Enjoy!

I love the gorgeous colors!! May I share this to the +Landscape Photography page?
+Jeff Sullivan Love your work!!!
Using the share function is always fine with me +Margaret Tompkins, so go for it, and thanks for honoring my work that way!
Thanks +Bob Bowman, I love capturing it.
I'll be offering night photography, Eastern Sierra, Fall colors, Yosemite and Death Valley workshops this year if you ever want to come up and join me.
+Jeff Sullivan I actually seen that night Bodie workshop last night. Looks very inviting! I was disappointed that it closed at 3 last weekend. I will most certainly look at your workshop schedule.
Bodie closed at 3? Really?
Is there any snow still up there +Bob Bowman? I was thinking of visiting on Sunday. The date that I announced so far is Friday, August 9: http://www.jeffsullivanphotography.com/blog/bodie-photography-workshops-2013/
I have to be careful not to announce too many at once. Due to the access & permit fees charged up front I have to be careful that each one reaches a minimum enrollment so I don't lose money.
+Jeff Sullivan There is no snow....very little patches that are probably gone now. The south entrance road was freshly graded and much nicer then my visit past summer. I think the off season hours are gonna change in the middle of May. I was there last Thursday and there was no one there. It was awesome cause it definitely had a different feel when there were many people my last visit.
Magnifique
making me very jealous here Jeff! those skies look sick! :D
+Jeff Sullivan Just double checked.....Summer hours 9am-6pm starts May 15
