The Road Ahead

You could say it's bumpy, or you could say it's colorful… it's all a matter of perspective.

I'm heading out this weekend, and will show you some of my results next week.

  1. On this day +frank hoxsey the life seemed to be on the road.  Garter snakes were on the move.  There were none on  the road on the way in, but then on the way out I chased two off the road, two more were hit.  By the fifth one it was getting ridiculous.  I'd never get out if I stopped every couple of hundred yards, so I just drove around it.

  2. It's in California, east of the Sierra Nevada. +José Luis Sánchez de la Rosa and +Senen Jane.
From late September through October when overnight temperatures start to drop below freezing and the days get shorter, the leaves on our aspen trees start to turn yellow and sometimes shades of red and orange.  The change starts at higher elevations around 10,000 feet, and gradually reaches the valleys at 4000 to 7000 feet.  Each canyon has its own microclimate though, and each year weather patterns introduce variation, so it becomes a bit of a hunt to find the best locations in any given week.
