I've produced this demo reel and teaser video to introduce my upcoming coverage of Comet ISON, widely billed as a possible "Comet of the century". As an experienced astrophotographer, I've identified some of the best opportunities and places to catch it. I'm considering individual and corporate sponsors to fund expanding the scope and duration of my video and still image coverage.
For individual sponsors, I'll allow a limited number of other photographers to accompany me in a workshop in December (contact me for details).
For corporate and news media sponsors, they'll get priority access to timely, world-class coverage as the spectacle hits every news outlet worldwide, online and on-air. My astronomy time-lapse footage and still images have been featured by +National Geographic, BBC, +ABC World News with David Muir, on various local news broadcasts, CNN, +The Huffington Post, on +Philip Plait's +Bad Astronomy blog on +Slate and +Discover Magazine, and shared on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ by major social media influencers.
My kids +Nicole Sullivan (17) and +Thomas Sullivan (14), also award-winning astrophotographers, will join me on this project when they can.
The first clip in this teaser video is from my coverage of the 2013 Perseid meteor shower. I licensed it to BBC for the documentary special on John Denver which aired tonight on BBC FOUR in the U.K., November 22, 21:00 GMT.
Comet ISON is visible now, but it should brighten considerably as it passes the sun later this month, and if it survives its close pass, it should remain bright well into December:

I have been trying to capture this the past few mornings... down fall of clouds this am. I may have captured it in a couple shots yet they are of poor focus... I will continue to try until I no longer have a chance :) thanks for sharing this !
I went to Death Valley for a few days +Michelle Smith, and I had great sunset and sunrise weather, but clouds and a not-yet-fully-brightened comet don't make for the best mix. With our generally clear, dry, dark skies here in the Eastern Sierra, I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportunities in the coming weeks, especially after the comet makes its turn around the sun and brightens.

So Very inspiring. I would love to try and view let alone capture comet ison but I'm in London super cloudy! Any suggestions as to where might be a decent spot nearby for me to grab this once in a lifetime opportunity?
Did you hear about the massive Gamma Ray explosion that happened. It was called The Monster. nothing was seen like this since the Big Bang. Of course, nobody saw that, but this one peaked all their instruments; SIZZLE". If it had been any closer, one of the scientists replied, there would have been nothing we could have done". The atmosphere would get blown away and the earth would just have crumbled. Nice morning news with your coffee, huh,
I hadn't read about that +Johmathan .B. Swift. Apparently the most intense gamma rays lasted for 20 hours starting on April 27.
I have noticed a lot of both green and red air glow in my night time-lapse sequences this year. I wonder if there was still a somewhat elevated level of gamma rays when I captured air glow in this time-lapse video on May 10: http://www.tout.com/m/2xwaox?ref=tw6j34td

We're losing sight of Comet ISON for the next 10 days or so while it approaches the sun, but after that +Joseph Pirocco look low on the eastern/northeastern horizon about 90 minutes before sunrise through mid-December.
Around that time you can also Google "Comet ISON" to find articles with more specific date and location information, so you can find it near particular stars in the sky.
