Milky Way over Wheaton & Hollis Hotel

To see some excellent shots of the Milky Way over ghost town buildings and mining artifacts in California's Bodie State Historic Park, check out +David Safanda 's images from his visit to this Gold Rush town last summer.  This image won a +Think Tank Photo camera pack in a contest over on Instagram, but I like this original composition over the square crop required on that site.

We'll visit the park on several nights again in 2014, but the dates are filling fast: http://www.jeffsullivanphotography.com/blog/bodie-night-photography-workshops/

A trip to the historic ghost town Bodie,CA is always a bit like stepping in to a time machine. At night underneath the stars this effect is amplified. Things get wonderfully weird and fantastic.
Special thanks to +Jeff Sullivan  and +Lori Hibbett  for running the wonderful workshop that provided this unique access. It was great to spend the night working closely with +Guillaume Desachy .
