Another Difficult Year in Death Valley
Yet somehow the wildflowers manage to flourish. you can find them now up to 5000 feet in elevation, and they're prolific in the 3000-4000 range in the Panamint Mountains this week. Here's the Spring in Death Valley album I've started on G+:

Она пришла еще не ко всем!!!
Thank you very much for posting these beautiful pics of death valley…a place I will never see with my naked eye!!
Que belleza¡¡!!
It's still very dry in the bottom of the valley this year, with only 1.7" of rain received since last July +Dan Zukowski and +Doug Thompson . The surrounding mountains intercept much more moisture however, in inconsistent quantities depending upon how scattered showers distribute, so the wildflower season moves up in elevation in the weeks leading into summer, and the stronger areas change from year to year. Last year the Amargosa Range was one of the better spots in a difficult year, this year the Panamint Range is doing better.
Lovely photos!
Schöne Natur Bilder !
