In honor of the 2014 Perseid Meteor shower peaking tonight, I offer you time-lapse clips from the 2010-2012 Perseids in the first 1:49 of this video (soundtrack used with permission). All of the footage in it was compiled during my travels in recent years. I hope that you enjoy it!
Here are some images from several nights of the 2013 Perseid meteor shower:

fabulous video!
Really disappointed to have missed this.

This is super cool video
+Nadine Kieff No ads = no budget = no travel = no more videos.
Very few of my videos have ads at the moment, but I'd like to increase my travel budget to produce more videos, so the ads will probably increase over time. Unfortunately what you like to receive for free over the Internet is not actually free at all to produce. My last trip cost me over $1000, and this video was produced from many trips over the course of 3 years… probably over $10,000 in travel costs to recoup.
In the case of this video, my "monetization" setting is off, any ads served with it are the sole decision and responsibility of YouTube. It's sad that Google is happy to profit off of my work without sharing the revenue.
+Tibolt Gueris I was up until 2 am and the clouds here never cleared, so unfortunately although I was able to capture some footage yesterday morning, I was unable to shoot more last night. Although the peak was last night, the meteor shower will continue for a few more days, so I will probably still try to get out and see what I can capture.
Thanks everyone!
+Sharon Hoyt Thanks, that's very kind of you to say.
Awesome and well done. Thank you for sharing.
Wow! I like this very much .. and the music too!
love it!! thanks
Wow. What camera do you use to get such detailed pictures at night? Awesome. you don't realise there is a parallax effect without the time lapse.
What up
wow

Love your videos!
Where was this footage shot? Any where in SoCal? Last time I saw bitchenetwor showers clear as day was In Santa Onofre, no city lights, rad surf and the most beautiful sky.
🙂 ahhhh…
Oookay, I kind find out for myself no big deal
+Tibolt Gueris Just saw your two comments, which were apparently auto-flagged due to the unrecognized stream of characters "bitchenetwor " in your first comment. Most of my night footage is shot in the Eastern Sierra due to the minimal light pollution.
+Matt Harrison Most of these were shot on the Canon 5D Mark II from 2010 – 2012. Just about any DSLR with a full frame sensor can shoot images like this, although it's best to have a lens which shoots at f/2.8 or faster as well.
+Vic iOrka omo8m hmmmmmmmk?m w w 2mssmm uwkjnooooooo and I have to admit that youroo and I have to admit that your m?
Wow, that was weird. I think I may have been trying to say that the sky in that area is ideal for meteor showers, as the city is just open coastline, not many street lights. Sorry.
Thank you so much Jeff for this breath-taking video and music!
