Wild West Ghost Town Last Weekend

We had another amazing visit to Bodie last weekend.  Here are 14 more photos from our night and interior photography workshop.  Here's a link to the rest of my 2014 Bodie album on G+: https://plus.google.com/photos/+JeffreySullivan/albums/5887226287122891953

  1. You'd have to ask the park employees or the Bodie Foundation +Korin Johnson .  It might help if you have a last name, since the houses are known for the last name of their residents, like the Cain House, the Dolan House or the DeChambau Hotel.   Many of those families are still in the area, and there was a "family reunion" event held for them in the park this summer.  it is possible that Rebecca or Roberta might have attended.

  2. +Kathleen Bacheller Amazingly, although the snow used to get many feet deep in the winter, the houses have no insulation.  Where the wallpaper of cloth wall covering is coming off the walls, you can see daylight!  In many cases there is no firm ceiling, only cloth stapled to the ceiling joists.  So I'm sure that the houses were very cold and drafty in the winter, especially when the wind was blowing through the cracks between the boards.  They mus have had to keep fires going 24 x 7 all winter long.  It's a fascinating place to explore.
