Thanks to Liz Horton and +ABC11-WTVD in Raleigh for using my Orionid Meteor shower time-lapse video from 2012 to inform viewers about the Orionid meteor shower this year. Here's five hours of the 2014 Orionid meteor shower, condensed into a few seconds of time-lapse video. I shot it in the high, dry, optimal dark sky viewing conditions of the Tonopah Star Trails area of Nevada, under some of the darkest skies in the world.

I usually shoot for more than one night during a meteor shower +George Lowrimore, but I could only shoot about 5 hours on this one night. We had a lightning storm the first night, clouds and high winds the other nights. The occasional movement in this is from the wind affecting the tracking mount, even though the tripod was set in a very broad, low stance to brace the camera against it. Here's how the night time-lapses turn out without the tracking mount (and wind):
