Northern California Pet and Portrait Photography by Nicole Sullivan

My daughter Nicole Sullivan has been a photographer for many years. One of the jobs she has worked at for the past few years is serving as a staff photographer for UC Davis, covering events and student life. For her second job, she works at the Yolo County Animal Shelter, caring for rescued pets. Her photography skills have also been useful on the shelter’s Facebook page, helping the animals get adopted:

Nicole has now embarked on a third venture combining her years of experience with people and animal portraits, offering portrait photography services. You may find her portfolio and contact form on her new Web site, Nicole Sullivan Photography, https://nasullivan.wixsite.com/sullivanphotogra

Many photographers mention that they’re “award-winning photographers”, but few have achieved accomplishments like these before the age of 18. At age 15 she won Runner Up (second place) in the Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2011 contest held by the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, Young Astronomers category, with this image:

If the Royal Observatory, Greenwich sounds vaguely familiar, it’s because it’s home to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), and the Prime Meridian, the point from which all longitudes are measured.

The Royal Observatory sent a film crew to interview her for seven hours, to create this bio video of her:

Not bad for age 15!

Then the following year, she took highest honors in the California State Fair with a framed print of this image of hers:

Nicole is skilled at incorporating interesting light into her photos:

She has even caught me doing my thing on the darkest of nights:

So if you’re in the Davis – Sacramento – Roseville area and need a photographer, fill out her contact form and let her know!
