Battery Point Lighthouse Sunrise Moon Set

One of my favorite shots on my Oregon Coast road trip ended up being on my way back, just into California at Crescent City. On National Geographic I explain why I went out of my way to be here, at this place and time.

I used the app The Photographer's Ephemeris on my iPhone to test the concept of a sunrise moon set over the Battery Point Lighthouse in Crescent City and it seemed to work well, so I set up shortly before sunrise to enjoy the anticipated moment as it unfolded.
