The Slink Fire left Slinkard Valley yesterday and came over the hills to burn above the towns of Coleville and Walker last night. It was listed as 6500 acres and 5% contained.
As I drove away, the brightest spot in the panorama above turned into a fire tornado at least two to three hundred feet tall. A pillar of flame. I’ve seen smaller ones, but nothing like that.

As of the morning of September 5, the Slink Fire is reported as having burned 18,665 acres, with 15% containment.

My son has property in Coleville along hwy 395 next too the post office. How close to the property is it? No buildings on it.
