Woke up to 12″ of snow on the ground outside my house, about 8″ down at the lake. It continued to snow off and on through mid-day, then the clouds started to break, and the sun started to shine through. We had stunning fall colors on the cottonwood trees around the lake a couple of days earlier, and some colorful leaves survived the wind as the storm was moving in the day before.
I couldn’t resist the temptation to get a few turns in on my skis, but although fairly deep, the snow was too light! Upon turning, I scraped the pavement with the edges of my skis. Oh well, it was fun to be on skis again!
