Off to Big Sur for the Week

We were halfway to Big Sur last week when the incoming storms prevented +Lori Hibbett and I from being able to go to California's Big Sur Coast to catch the lunar eclipse, but we'll head there this week to explore some of the few coastal access points we haven't already captured for the book I'm working on.  The first 11 photos in this album are some of the ones we caught on prior trips to the coast.  As the week's series of storms finally promise to break up, the forecast looks great for the potential to do even better!

  1. +Frances Martinez Aside from planning on being here for sunset, I never wait; there's always another composition to capture.  I never understand why people could possibly stand in one place during a sunset, getting one photo from an entire sunset.  I caught 8-10 really nice ones from this one sunset.  You'll experience a limited amount of sunrise and sunset light in your life, so unless you're specifically pursuing a sequence of time-lapse shots, KEEP MOVING!  If you are taking a time-lapse sequence, hopefully you have a backup camera (keep your old one when you upgrade) and go discover a variety of compositions.
