Moonlit Deer Crossing in Yosemite

I arrived here to catch the moon rise by Half Dome earlier this week, but after the light on the landscape faded to the point where the moon was too bright, I focused on the deer interacting nearby.  This large buck had chased off two smaller bucks, and was wading across the river to check on his girlfriend feeding on the island.

  1. Once the wind calmed down, temperatures weren't bad!  Of course I was dressed as if I were going skiing, but that turned out to be a little too much preparation this time.  I used thin gloves and often used finger-less ones or had them off, instead of needing a heavier pair.  I also wore trial running shoes instead of switching to insulated, waterproof boots.
