Due to the incoming storm I wasn't able to get the moon rise shot I was hoping for last night, but fortunately the clouds were broken enough to let in some sunset light.

+Mickey Medina This is Topaz Lake on the California/Nevada border, between Lake Tahoe and Mono Lake in the Eastern Sierra.
Beautiful..wow
sooo gorgeous!
Nice!
Consolation prize? HA! You mean the grand prize. Jeff, I know you get to see skies like this waaaaaay more than we do here in the bay, but to me this is other worldly cool. The subtle gradations between the salmony pinks and the purply blues is just mesmerizing.
Hey Jeff. First thing first… this pic is absolutely amazing. Mind writing down some data on iso, aperture, lense and that stuff. An amateur like me would apreciate a lot. Thks.
amazing
cool really cool
It beauitful
Great light, great photo and, hey, is that snow on the peaks at the left?
Good luck with this storm hitting the west coast, +Jeff Sullivan – looks like you're going to have some water to deal with.
fantastic
Szuper
Super
Yes +Mike Martin That's snow, mostly over the 7500 foot level at the moment, and we should get more over the next 3-4 days. I'm cautiously optimistic about our coming ski season.
+Juan Pedro Secondo Sure, here's the Exif data:
Camera – Canon EOS 5D Mark III
Exposure – 0.02 sec (1/50)
Aperture – f/4.0
Focal Length – 70 mm
ISO Speed – 800
Exposure Bias – -1 EV
I had walked down to the shore without my tripod, so as it got darker I opened the aperture to f/4 and raised the ISO to 800 to keep the exposure time close to 1/focal length.
Wait until you see the next few +Paul Porter. : )
Better yet, I want to be there for the next few. Alas, stuck in Oakland for a while.
….wooow….
Beautiful. Thanks.
Ooo that's gorgeous. Love the colors here Jeff.
Come on up when you get a break +Paul Porter. You too +Amy Heiden. We're just entering the prime sunrise/sunset season when Topaz Lake and Mono Lake are dead calm.
Purple miracle..!
