Consolation Prize

Due to the incoming storm I wasn't able to get the moon rise shot I was hoping for last night, but fortunately the clouds were broken enough to let in some sunset light.

  1. Consolation prize?  HA!  You mean the grand prize.  Jeff, I know you get to see skies like this waaaaaay more than we do here in the bay, but to me this is other worldly cool.  The subtle gradations between the salmony pinks and the purply blues is just mesmerizing.

  2. +Juan Pedro Secondo Sure, here's the Exif data:
Camera – Canon EOS 5D Mark III
    Exposure – 0.02 sec (1/50)
    Aperture – f/4.0
    Focal Length – 70 mm
    ISO Speed – 800
    Exposure Bias –  -1 EV
I had walked down to the shore without my tripod, so as it got darker I opened the aperture to f/4 and raised the ISO to 800 to keep the exposure time close to 1/focal length.
